Dear Mr Field

Everybody makes mistake. Some are forgotten. Others are remembered by friends. Unfortunately for you, your rage and anger was recorded for the whole world to see. These few seconds of film could have been prevented if you had managed the situation better.

After having seen the video, of you throwing down the teenage girl to the floor, I was in absolute shock. I watched it over and over again with ,extreme disgust, for your action, trying to see in what possible mindset you had to be in to believe it was correct to do what you did.

As I researched the background for the video, I found out that you have a reputation for acting out and attacking anyone you want during your moments of fury. Time and time again, have found yourself over-reacting in situations you should have calmed , not stoked.

With power, hate and anger, there will always be an element of fear in any situation, specially in a school filled with hundreds of students. I, too, have had to react quickly in situation where adrenaline levels are high, defenses are put up and anger is flowing. But never have I outright attacked/assaulted a person, instead I have calmed down and convinced the other person that it was better to talk than to fight .

You may, however, state the teenage girl through the first punches, or in other words, made the situation spiral out of control. But, you, as an officer of the law, should have used your years of training and experience to prevent this from happening. Or, are trying to say that anyone strong enough to ‘defend’ themselves from a teenage girl, should be working with the police?

Even though many of the students are protesting (to try and protect both your reputation and your job), it show the an ugly, hidden truth. These students would rather, an abusive, hate-filled, fury-driven man who should be a protector ,and not an aggravator, stay in the school, instead of defending a fellow student. A fellow classmate. A fellow person.

Furthermore, many people say that, the young girl was disrespecting. To a certain extent, this is true, as she was going against what you were asking here to do, and was disrupting the lesson in which she was in. In addition, you may be thinking that she was also ignoring your authority, but if you think you gained it back when you threw to the floor, then you are very mistaken. In my sincere opinion, any respect you had gained, constructed and created was lost the second you decided that your respect had to be enforced by assaulting a 15 year-old girl.

For now, your misdeeds have gone unpunished in the eye of the ‘law’. But, after doing what you did, the law, will see your mistake, and your whole world will collapse because you could not control your self. Now you will live with what you done. Now you will see that protection of the people, is not the same as protection of your whole self worth. Now, the world will know.
